Half term skiing advice needed!

I know I'm a bit late with this, but there is some availability left.. DD is in reception now so I guess we are trapped by the school calendar!

So, my questions:

(1) How crowded is the skiing in Austria/Switz/France during half term? Long lines everywhere?

(2) Does everywhere require a Saturday to Saturday booking? We probably can't find flights that work for these days now.

tbh we like Saas (Noonar is off there at half term , do check her threads too) and Wengen(not readily accessible form Milan).

thanks for this thread zanj, its made me realise that my feb half term hol (departing 16th feb) may not be the busiest week of the season, as i'd feared.

thanks liz, for your handy link. if i've read the chart correctly, it seems that the sport holiday is the week before, or even earlier than that.

Austrian half terms start 9th & 16th Feb.
