Destination advice - skiing *with* small children

Hi I'm a first time poster and would like to ask advice on a holiday. We plan to ski with/spend time with our kids (5 and 3 - both skiing) in the main so childcare/crèche not needed, criteria are: Europe, snowsure in Feb, quiet green/ blue runs, maybe a kids area, a place with families with young children, kids activities- chance for socialising would be a plus. Short transfer - less than 2 hours. Can anyone recommend any destinations which fit the bill for us? Thanks. Smile

Mayerhofen or another Austrian resort would suit you I think - sport hotels with pools and playgrounds. Lower level so warmer. Not much blue skiing but you won’t need more than 1-2 runs.
Just make sure you’re away from the apres bars as they can be loud!

Cont.

Nice train rides to other towns which can be fun and also easy short transfers from Innsbruck.

A fairly quiet resort in Austria would suit you well.

Many are in easy reach of Innsbruck, Salzburg or Munich.

We like Scheffau - other resorts in the Ski Welt area are Soll, Ellmau, Hopfgarten. Different villages but the skiing all links up.

Booking separately saves a lot of money ime.

Crystalski asks £1600 pp for just flights and hotel. Separately I do that plus ski school ski pass and ski hire.

Look at Megeve in France, an hour or so from Geneva, quiet even when hols and mainly broad green and blue slopes. Pretty town too!

Kransjka Gora in Slovenia is brilliant for children. Quite a small ski area, but the skiing they do have is good. And it's cheap in resort eg ski hire / lift pass. And you can do day trips to Bled or Venice. Transfer from Ljubljana is 1 hr 15 mins. Even a transfer from Salzburg (over 3 hours) is actually Ok as almost all the journey is on motorway

I really liked Obergurgl in Austria for families.
