Please help me find a ski holiday

I'm trying to find a holiday for me, husband + 4yo mid march. We usually ski in the Alps but will consider anywhere up to max 10 hour flight.
We want to be able to ski in the morning and do family stuff in the afternoon so would be good to have a resort with some non-skiing stuff to do as well as a largish ski area and snow sure for mid-march (not pds)
We need childcare combined with ski school for around 4 hours in the morning. 4yo is very sociable so it needs to be group childcare/lessons.
We aren't too fussy about accommodation but do not want a chalet. Either ski in/out or very close to lifts/ski school.
Ideally within 2 hours of a large airport and around £2k for a family of 3??
Any suggestions Grin

Esprit (for the focus on childcare)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've heard good things about the Esprit ski school and child care but like the other big family companies, ski famille, family ski etc they only do chalets.

Are you wanting self catering then?

We are staying in one called a chalet but with over 100 guests I'd call it a hotel!!

We want to eat dinner altogether which I don't think is possible even in the chalet hotels?
Also husband says he can't be bothered to chat to other people at meal times and generally be sociable, as you do in chalets.
And esprit only does afternoon beginner lessons ski for 3 and 4 year olds but he's not a beginner. maybe they'd let him ski in the morning with the older kids....Skiing was a lot less complicated before kids.

Ski-2 in Champoulac (Italy) - they have hotels and a creche/childrens ski service

We have been looking for ski holidays too - similar position to yourself SiennaSun me, DH and 2DCs below 10.

We find Esprit or Mark Warner are the best... they have family specific hotels/chalets, with ski lessons in the morning (or creche) and early tea times for families. We have found the food to be child-friendly too (lots of veg and pasta)
If your DH doesn't want to chat to others - chalet hotels are a good idea; same concept as a chalet (everyone eats at the same time, small team looking after you etc) but usually hold aprx 30-50 guests and allow families to eat at their own table.

We are off to Lech, Austria this year for some Goulash!! Smile

I have been to Arc 1950 with my kids and they loved it. The ski school Spirit 1950 is excellent and they have a creche in the village too. Door step skiing and lots of other families to socialise with but you can go back to your apartment at the end of the day. Have a look at www.ernalow.co.uk/france/les-arcs/arc-1950/pierre-and-vacances-premium-le-village for more info and happy skiing!

Esprit don't just do chalets. We stayed with them in val d'isere in the ducs de savoie hotel, which was very good.

Or another good hotel is the Diva in Tignes with Crystal. You all eat at the same time there.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Lots of ski holidays for me to look at tonight Smile
