So I'm hearing that the snows not brilliant this year, we have flights booked to Geneva at the end of jan but have not yet chosen a resort. Any recommendations? Preferably not a long transfer as we're only gong for a long weekend.

Look at le grand Bornand, France. I would stay in Chinaillion the top ski resort, great snow cover there last week.

It is only 1 hour from Geneva and is a lovely resort.

Villars, Switerland, or Verbier if you want a bit higher, Champery in Portes du Soleil. All close, one hr 20 mins Villars & Champery.

Grimentz (less sun) and St Luc / Chandolin (more sun) are great.

Both in Switzerland

Just got back from Saas Fee, Switzerland. Loads of snow fell over Christmas... but it is about 2-3 hours away from Geneva by train (+ bus)

Verbier, Chamonix, Villars, Avoriaz
