Car seats on coaches

Hi we are going skiing tomorrow and I've realised the my DDs car seat (3.5 yrs) may not fit on the coach. Travelling from Lyon to La Rosiere with Skibeat, so a 3 hr transfer - so for comfort and safety I'd like to take. Does anyone have experience of transfers on this route with skibeat? Thanks!

Would it be a booster car seat? If you are worried I would contact the tour operator as I'm sure they've had the question asked before. Thanks

it depends if the coach has 3 point seatbelts or not as not a lot of seats are compatible with lap belts. We have never taken car seats on holiday with us and have always had a coach transfer

I had this concern last year with our almost two year old. There were no guarantees at all that a car seat would fit on the coach as there was no way to say what sort of seatbelts it would have. We ended up getting a Bubble Bum booster seat (linky here) which although was not in any way ideal, was better than nothing. It packed really easily into the luggage so it was not a hassle in the way a massive car seat is (and prone to damage by the airline)

It worked out fine, although obviously we were not involved in an accident.. but I'd guess it would have been safer than him being on our lap or without a booster.

Hi just to update - we took the car seat with us and used it without any issue on the coach transfers - but with a lap belt. Although a bit bulky - there was no issue putting it in the hold with our airline (Monarch) and it worked well for us - DD slept comfily and we felt it was safer for her than just the lapbelt alone. We have a Recaro Monza Nova Seatfix. Thanks all for your input.

I know Family Ski Company offer car seats on all their transfers and no extra charge.
