Is there already a thread about how we can bold whole phrases now, and don't have to star each individual word?

No word of a lie, we can bold entire phrases now.

We don't have to arse about starring every word (and accidentally missing one and messing it up)

Have I missed this? Is it old news?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/07/2010 20:02

Need t be able to do full sentence strike outs before im impressed.

honeydragon · 02/07/2010 20:06

I am suspicious that this coincides with the mumsnet app being shortly released, the tech boys have been bribed to do this too, methinks

honeydragon · 02/07/2010 20:07

that was fun!

hedgepig · 02/07/2010 21:29

this is so exciting........(I think I need to get out more) [slinking off emoction]

RustyBear · 04/07/2010 10:18

It's causing havoc in the Education section, though, where people keep talking about A* grades - especially as putting a return in doesn't seem to break the phrase like a space does.

RustyBear · 04/07/2010 10:24

That should read like a space used to, because, of course, it doesn't anymore....

So is there actually any way now of putting two asterisks into the same post? You might need to fix this before the middle of August when the exam results come out, or people won't be able to boast report their children's results properly!

theyoungvisiter · 04/07/2010 10:28

yes there needs to be some way of using a double asterisk that doesn't bold the whole post.

Maybe it could be [* to open a bold phrase and the opposite to close?

StealthPolarBear · 04/07/2010 10:29

can we?

StealthPolarBear · 04/07/2010 10:30

does it work for italics?

DuelingFanjo · 04/07/2010 10:31

is it like this and like this?

DuelingFanjo · 04/07/2010 10:32

coooooooooooooooooooool

2shoes · 04/07/2010 10:33

bet this doesn't work

StealthPolarBear · 04/07/2010 10:34

what were you trying to do 2shoes??

2shoes · 04/07/2010 10:49

it worked lol
I love it, but we now need it for strike throughs

RustyBear · 04/07/2010 10:56

testing to see
if a return stops the bolding

Well, it does in preview.

So you will be OK if you list each A* your DCs get on a separate line...

StealthPolarBear · 04/07/2010 11:03
  • oh does it? *
