I'v got rather confused by this. I thought it was just for selling unwanted and used items. Has this changed?

i have emailed mn, will say though that part of her shop helps a charity but surely if those goods were supporting her charity she would say???

spacecadet · 04/08/2005 10:42

well done lemonice!!!!!!!!!!

Janh · 04/08/2005 10:42

I wondered about this one too but naively thought (from the front page) it was all for charity. Have read it more carefully now and in fact none of it is!

I agree, should be business ads or nothing. I will email too.

lemonice · 04/08/2005 10:42

The charity is a separate account according to ebay shop which sells a couple of items it is not the main business nor the sales she is putting on mn...

I've definately noticed a lot of people lately who have suddenly appeared on the for sale board but never post anywhere else. One of these seemed to be who got some free stuff offered by a kind mn'er then never paid postage. Very unfair THing is though, i suppose with people selling single items we can't stop it without closing the selling thread which would be a shame as its really handy!!

SoupDragon · 04/08/2005 10:45

It's the surprising amount of pregnancy tests etc available with "I can get more if needed.." that gets me.

lemonice · 04/08/2005 10:46

I think this particular seller is an exception which i was surprised no one picked up on, normally the board seems pretty up front and it's good it's got more popular lately but it does rely on goodwill and she is trading on that...as i say if it's acceptable I will do it tooLOL but I don't actually think it is>>>and I also think the charity aspect is misleading...

OP posts:
spacecadet · 04/08/2005 10:46

janh, yes the charity is completely seperate and sells diff stuff, the shop itself is what she is selling stuff from.

lemonice · 04/08/2005 10:46

SD I noticed the pregnancy tests too!!!

OP posts:
spacecadet · 04/08/2005 10:47

i rarely look at the for sale boards so havent noticed im afraid

lemonice · 04/08/2005 10:48

of course mn gets nothing at all from these sales, no fee and no commission...

OP posts:
lemonice · 04/08/2005 10:49

Space cadet, I don't normally but I was on here on Sunday when she loaded up about ten one after the other and you couldn't but think it was odd...

OP posts:
spacecadet · 04/08/2005 10:50

the preg tests one is a bit suss, i noticed that our ebayer had attempted to buy them thinking they were going as a job lot!!!!,

spacecadet · 04/08/2005 10:51

ahh, i see lemonice, didnt get the chance to look at mn much on sun!

Janh · 04/08/2005 10:52

The pregnancy tests are odd too, aren't they - where are they being sourced (ahem) I wonder?

Anyway I have emailed MN Towers with a link to this thread and one of the relevant For Sale threads. I'm glad you raised it, lemonice, I also noticed the string of ads at the weekend and was going to do something but got misled then by the charity aspect.

lemonice · 04/08/2005 10:53

LOL PMSL that was what prompted me to go public when I saw her trying to buy those!! Who wants dozens of pregnancy kits!!

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 04/08/2005 10:54

And where do all those SIM cards come from???

spacecadet · 04/08/2005 10:57

janh, with all of us emailing then mn should have a look, and can i ask, wheres your pic on the mod page??

WigWamBam · 04/08/2005 10:57

Sometimes the SIM cards are genuine, I was sent 5 free ones by my service provider so I advertised them on the For Sale board. I gave them away though, so can I be forgiven?

I had noticed the ebay shop ones, but was also misled by the charity aspect - I felt mean dobbing them in if they were raising money for charity. If they're not then dob away, I say.

spacecadet · 04/08/2005 10:58

however, lemonice, she did say she was preg again.

Gillian76 · 04/08/2005 10:58

I think it's a bit off too. Got a bit suspicious with all the kids clothes ads but hadn't clocked they were all from the same ebay seller.

Hope MN sorts it out.

Hulababy · 04/08/2005 11:01

I have a SIM card too if anyone wants one ;) We got this one free with a mobile I bought Dh for his birthday. But the SIm car for Virgin, and Dh needed to be on O2. But it still worked out cheaper to do it this way. o I do have a frrebie Virgin PAYH SIM card, with £5 credit available if anyone wants it (£5 plus P&P to cover the dredit on it)

SoupDragon · 04/08/2005 11:02

Is that a business ad, Hula?

Hulababy · 04/08/2005 11:02

Sorry, didn't get mine free - I paid for it (£10 I think) but had to get it to get phone at reduced price.
