Suggestions for helfpul links from Feeling Depressed board

Hi all

Following on from varoius discussions about this we have decided to add a disclaimer/helpful notice to all the feeling depressed pages, along the lines of "Please bear in mind that this board is not a substitute for expert help on depression ...etc etc" followed by a link to a sort of mini webguide of places where people could find expert help and advice. We can think of a couple of obvious ones like The Samaritans and Mind - but we're sure there are loads of others that mumsnetters might have come across.

If you could post any useful suggestions here over the course of the next week, we'll get the notice put up on Feeling depressed the following week.

I'll give JJ a kick up the rear end. I think the "mental health" section is there in the webguide now, just not the disclaimer.

In invisible print just under "health" . Last I heard, JJ was going to add the section into the index - all the links are there (bar some of the more recentish ones on this thread that I don't recognise), you just can't see them at all. Which isnt much use really!

Turns out JJ's away right now so it won't get done yet unless I nag someone else, which I'll do later.

seems to be a lot of activity on feeling depressed so thought it might be time to bump this again

good job nobody is paying me to campaign for anything I'd be crap!

Oh dear - what a failure I am! I'm afraid I'm not in office tomorrow (DH's 40th and he's got a day off), but please please keep nagging. It is still a great idea and looks like we have more recommendations now so I promise to try and make ir happen next week... Sooooo sorry. Must try harder

Thanks yes we had a lovely time. I have also now written the disclaimer emailed both a tech bod and the lovely lady who runs the web guide and said we have to implement this asap. I'm sure you won't believe it till you see it but now two proper organised folks are involved you may finally see some action Huge apologies. New Year's Resolution... must try harder...
