What happened to the promised Animal Dyson Trial?

Wasn't there an allergy trial, with promises of an animal one in the not too distant future.

Did I miss it?

I'd really love to test one if they send me one. It's a bit biased to all those who live in near the factory/can drive otherwise. It would make a fairer representation if they distributed them a little further afield. Like Derbyshire. Ohhh, I live there!

ThePhantomPlopper · 30/06/2009 14:28

Does that mean I'm out? I live on the Isle of Wight!

GhostOfPsychomum5 · 30/06/2009 14:29

or maybe an elephant one.......

lisad123 · 30/06/2009 14:30

I'll drive anywhere!

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 30/06/2009 14:31

See Phantom, they should also send you one, it's a better representation of the UK's demographics.

CamillaDyson · 01/07/2009 14:14

hi all

Sorry for going all quiet on you all. I selfishly went off to get married and have had other work stuff on. And thus neglected to check MN.

Looks to me like lots of you want to try some of our pet machines, so I need to get my thinking cap on. We like to try and incorporate some sort of consumer insights/feedback when doing this type of thing, so we both get something out of it.

We launched some very sucky new handhelds last week, but I get the impression that you're all after a bigger beast to clean up after your beasts.

SO can I ask that you leave me to speak to our engineers. Find out what they'd like to know from some pet owners, then come back to you/Helen et al @ MN?

Thanks,
Camilla

GingerIgnoramus · 01/07/2009 14:15

ah how romantic!
oh camille its me cod, let me have a handheld one pleassssssssssse

CamillaDyson · 01/07/2009 15:22

Cod, I love the namechange!

Haven't decided how/what/if I am going to do anything with it yet. Probably will, and if so, will keep you in mind.

ThePhantomPlopper · 01/07/2009 15:48

Congratulations on getting married! .

ilovemydogandmrobama · 01/07/2009 17:19

congratulations.

I need serious help. I'm drowning in orange/black/white/tabby/grey hair. Am also using an awful lot of sellotape.

Iwould love to join in the trial too, pretty please

I have carpets, tiles, vinyl and concrete (the housing association still haven't laid the floors in the downstairs loo and bathrooms upstairs and we have been here a year ). They are still building around here so I have brick dust and alsorts coming in plus the crap that my brood brings in, drops on the floor and generally seems to magic out of thin air.

So we will have all sorts of challanges for it.

addictedtovicounts · 04/07/2009 20:29

i would love to join in the trial too please for either hoover. child, dogs( long haired!)and cat. varying floor and surface types ( never knew before my DS that mud could become engraned into a leather sofa!!!)
i beg of you!!!!!

ilovemydogandmrobama · 05/07/2009 11:06

Me too!

I have children with long hair, dogs with long hair

Carpet, tiles, floorboards, lots of mud from allotment.

KingCanuteIAm · 06/07/2009 21:14

Ooh, I would happily trial one, large or small...or even both if it helps you

I have previously had short haired dogs, this one is coming as a bit of a shock to the system (and my cat just does not bear discussion)

Any news?

Is my desperation showing

HelenMumsnet · 21/07/2009 15:15

Hello.

I believe 'things are being discussed' and 'plans are being mooted' but I know no more than that at the moment.

Promise the idea has not been swept under the carpet though...

ThePlopperPhantom · 21/07/2009 23:08
Grin
TrinityRhinoHasASillyStepson · 21/07/2009 23:10

mooted - I love that word

I would love to try out an animal dyson

aristocat · 23/07/2009 22:45

me too please..

spent the worst 15 minutes of my life cutting DDs hair and cat fur away from vacuum brushes today

save me, save me, save me pleeeease

CamillaDyson · 28/07/2009 15:37

About to email MNHQ, but think we're close to finalising what we'd want from you all. Dyson is a bit deserted at the mo, so thinking we'll try and sort something towards the end of the summer hols, I hope that doesn't cause too much angst.

Helen (great pun BTW!) - will email you now!

Thanks,
Camilla
