I am (quite seriously) thinking I might have to publicy announce that I have hayfever whenever I go on public transport.

I have such dreadful hayfever at the moment I'm all red eyed and sneezy and do look hideous and people look very nervous around me.

I might need a special 'I do not have Swine Flu. Really.' sign attached to my coat.

foxinsocks · 27/04/2009 19:22

publicly

Northernlurker · 27/04/2009 19:22

In the interests of saving all our bacon I think a 'PANIC' topic would be an excellent idea. Then you can pop all the end of the world catastrophe stuff in one handy place.

I totally agree with the one thread proposal. It is driving me nuts.

Get a grip, worriers!

NL's panic topic suggestion is genius.

foxinsocks · 27/04/2009 19:25

lolol NL

it would cover off a whole load of threads wouldn't it

poopscoop · 27/04/2009 19:26

you wouldnt dare be seen buying truffles nowadays, you could be shot

Whizzz · 27/04/2009 19:29

I like the idea of a general 'PANIC' topic then I could block the whole lot!

Can we also have another topic called "What to call kids 'bits'" as I must have read at least 3057 threads with that title too

pointydog · 27/04/2009 19:31

oh yesplease. Give them a thread. You think these people re bad now, wait until they get a cold and lock themselves indoors. They will take over every message board going.

Save Our Souls

Whizzz · 27/04/2009 19:33

if there is just one thread, I'm going to post 'Atishoooooo' on it

CountessDracula · 27/04/2009 19:40

I have started PANIC sub topic of other subjects

OP posts:
pointydog · 27/04/2009 19:41

CountessDracula · 27/04/2009 19:43

or in other subjects

OP posts:
Northernlurker · 27/04/2009 19:50

Oooh PANIC really looks good doesn't it?

BitOfFun · 29/04/2009 15:48

Has anyone at HQ seen this yet? I must have hidden eight threads now...

HelenMumsnet · 29/04/2009 16:34

Yes, we've seen it, BitOfFun: we are squabbling deliberating carefully about it and will get back to you...

scottishmummy · 29/04/2009 16:48

BitOfFun · 29/04/2009 16:54

Thanks Helen!

MerlinsBeard · 29/04/2009 16:57

pleeeeease MNHQ. There is no need to p[anic and thread after thread after thread is bit like hysteria

scottishmummy · 29/04/2009 17:00

me thinkey some folk like panicing and doom "ah telt you..."

Saint2shoes · 29/04/2009 17:13

no I say
we had the JG deluge
at least this is news

Flightattendant25 · 29/04/2009 17:15

No no I would rather there were no cover up on here, I gauge my own panic levels by counting the number of other people doing it iyswim.

If there are no threads visible when I take my hands awayopen active convs, I know there is no big news and can breathe.

However if that were artificially the case I would have to click on the thread to make sure. iyswim.

scottishmummy · 29/04/2009 17:20

dont think anyone advocates cover up just threads confined rather than spread like a virulent rash across the board

al the panicker's and doom sayers can huddle together and discuss contingency plans and what if's without a new swine flu thread popping up all the time

scottishmummy · 29/04/2009 17:25

know it was unintentional but linking Madeleine McCann and swine flu bitty tacky

BitOfFun · 29/04/2009 17:29

Flight, that has got to be the WORST way to decide whether to panic or not!!
