I got this yesterday - for some reason was very taken by the word "servlet". Like a miniature Server? And you can't use the word "Invocation" often enough IMO.

dragonbutter · 23/03/2009 18:51

well i'm laughing.

it worked for me.

catinthehat1 · 23/03/2009 18:59

Ivy I think the punchline was "java.lang.NullPointerException " but I still don't get it.
There is something wrong with me.

Twims · 23/03/2009 21:05

HappyChildminderBerkshire · 24/03/2009 07:20

So I repeated it out loud for ages, then got the OH to have a go. How embarrassed was I when he explained the "joke".

OliviaMumsnet · 24/03/2009 09:26

Will bang on the shed door and ask them what they're doing in there!

BigTech · 24/03/2009 12:17

Well, there was no knock on the door...

Did you manage to post. It may have been a one off where the server may have been busy or us Techs may have been implementing some amazing new features (as we are doing on a regular basis).

Let me know.

FelineOkay · 24/03/2009 12:18

I find Java very confusing.

Twims · 24/03/2009 13:01

Yes it posted the message despite it saying that - just thought I should tell you

A servlet is a little thing that runs on a server
NullPointerException means it is pointing to something that is null
Funniest error message I ever got was in Access - one of those little error dialog boxes popped up but it was blank!

catinthehat1 · 24/03/2009 15:48

My goodness I would have had to be hospitalised PB, I find that sort of thing utterly hilarious!!!!

I mean ha, hahahaha!!!!

FelineOkay · 24/03/2009 15:53

Oh I get errors in access all the time.

"Runtime error x 345tsdafjot45trf763g0"

Um okay........................ and?

StealthPolarBear · 24/03/2009 16:46

catinthehat, do I detect sarcasm

catinthehat1 · 24/03/2009 17:33

dragonbutter · 24/03/2009 18:55

StealthPolarBear · 24/03/2009 19:08

You know I think I am - I genuinely thought people would find that funny! Been working in an office of techies too long!
