Ethos of AIBU board?

Icantbelieveitparent · 10/03/2009 15:07

I am relatively new to MN and I started a discussion in AIBU

I responded to posters throughout what I thought was a dicussion, whether I agreed with them or not, and not in a horrible way.

I was criticised. Is this board not for discussion or am I just taking too much of these posters - I know sniping does go on but am a bit perplexed...

Where should I have put a thread where I was prepared to respond and discuss?

I do think that the time of the month makes a difference to the AIBU board, but of course, since MNHK broke the moon (and STILL HAVE NOT FIXED IT), we have no way of knowing when to venture there in safety.............

it should be renamed 'I have PMT and need to rant, so only come here if you agree with me board' really

and then MNHQ should provide us all with special emoticons that flash red and hold axes, so other posters know to approach with care......

Icantbelieveitparent · 10/03/2009 16:45

maybe - I was thinking of the werewolf angle grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 10/03/2009 16:48

ah yes, werewolves also prevelent here.

I am of the axe-stalking-shower-scene persuasion myself

georgimama · 10/03/2009 16:48

You do realise OP, that everyone who reads this thread is going to search for your AIBU thread, and chime in?

I am, anyway.

solidgoldbrass · 10/03/2009 16:51

Oh there are some nights when all you need to do is to pop onto any thread and chuck a bucket of evening primrose oil at the participants...

psychomum5 · 10/03/2009 16:54

oh no SGB, surely vodka or tequila or wine would be better

Icantbelieveitparent · 10/03/2009 16:55

georinamama - I am just waiting for teatime to be over in many households and it will begin! I am slumped over laptop sniggering deliriously at whatever is posted!

I am calm, I am calm, Do not post topics on AIBU,Do not post topics on AIBU,Do not post topics on AIBU, I am calm , I am calm.

georgimama · 10/03/2009 17:02

I just read it. I didn't post.

It's pretty tame both in terms of controversy of OP and reactions of respondents tbh.

B- OP, must try harder.

psychomum5 · 10/03/2009 17:02

I like it better when I have been on the red wine too

Icantbelieveitparent · 10/03/2009 17:06

I only drink red wine in house - it stains my lips makes me look like a vampire! hissssss

But I am calm
