Hi I know this is a silly question-
but can I use a very similar username to someone else?

So my name is hungryhorse, but could a different person be called hungryhorses?

Say if someone is called jadesmummy and I wanted to be called jademummy... or jadesmum-- would that be allowed?

Weeeell, it's allowed but it's not exactly a good thing.

Because, obviously, it could lead to a whole lot of complication with posters being mistaken for each other (as has happened a few times, actually).

Was it just a hypothetical question, hungryhorse? Or have you spotted other hungryhorses on MN?

It's done by computer, so unless the name is identical it will be allowed.

No I have spotted someone who i know in RL who doesnt know I now that they are on here... but then there are messages by someone with an almost ientical name posting threads which I know are not true.

I didnt want to accuse that person of being a liar incase it was someone else with a VERY similar name.

Sorry this is confusing... in the threads which I think may be false, they are referred to by others as the name of the person who I know, even though they have posted under a different name( 1 letter different).

HelenMumsnet you have to put the thingies around each word in your sentence, like this ^ (except without the spaces)

hungryhorse If you are concerned about your friend, you could cat her anonymously and tell her of your concerns. If what the other poster has been posting is wildly different to what she has previously posted then you wouldn't have to know her in RL to have spotted the discrepancies (iykwim)

She isnt my friend, someone I see everyday and Id rather avoid her tbh if she makes stuff like this up.

missed the first leg. Have a horrible sneaky suspicion that next season could be a good one for you chaps..... Seeing things develop. Give all the power to Sparky re transfers etc. Get a better back room staff.

Also have nice feeling about the poss. of us winning everything this year........beat Barcelona and all will be well....

The goalie played slightly better in the second leg (although he wasn't tested that much )
