I'm now crying into my wine.

I was supposed to go, I had an outift all ready and even painted my nails last night.

Then got a call from my babysitter this morning to say she can't come tonight as she has a D&V bug.

I was looking forward to some adult conversation and meeting some of the mumsnet crew.

Now where is this virtual booklaunch?

I emailed her earlier, thanks.

I just had a text from her actually, and at no point did she say anything along the lines of "still waiting for TDWP to turn up... wonder whether she's still coming" so I figured you'd told her.

TDWP - I was supposed to go too but DD has a horrible bug and conjunctivitis. I was also looking forward to it but I am cheered by the fact that Mad Men is on at 10pm.

Even if I could go I'd probably still not even be there yet. I'm a great one for faffing around and then hitting delays on transport.

Swedes, I've seen all of season 2 but am watching again, it's brilliant.

I'm going to sit outside my local Waterstones with a bottle of Lambrini and a copy of some book I found there called the Affronted Little Baby (or something), instead.

Swedes! glad to see you here [iykwim] Dear dh rolled home at 6pm having promised to be home at 4pm, i dashed to the train station, stalled in rush hour traffic, missed the train and had to drive home with my hazard lights flashing all the way. But just as well, dd very grumpy and clingy. Sorry about your poor dd, hope she feels better soon.

Hope it's not like a meet up I went to where we had a roll call of 12, then just 3 turned up (one over an hour late, yes it was me)

We had a very angry restuarant manager to deal with having booked such a big table.

I'm sure it's full of the usual media and book types though (wonder if they invited Polly Vernon)

Ruty - We'll have to have an alternative book launch. To start a bit later, say 8.30pm on a Friday some time soon? Are you on?
