The use and abuse of swear words on MN

I think it's great that MN "allows" the usage of swear words without censoring as many other forums do. Swear words add emotion and colour to language imo so that side of it I have no problem with.

but, it does make me wonder when people use swear words to tell others to 'fuck off' or 'you're a twat'...........seems to me that its a misuse of this liberty.

now resist the temptation to reply with 'fuck off' etc and I'll be interested in others opinions on this matter.

trust me, that's one of the least dumb ass of their substitute swear words.

it's fucking ridiculous, it really is.

Swearing gives Mumsnet a 'keeping it real' element I think.. Although I rarely swear on threads, reading a thread with swearing in it does not bother me.
