AbbyMN needs your Braxton Hicks comments...

Am just working on some stuff for the site and need to get some good quotes re' Braxton Hicks. Did you have them? If so, what was your experience of them? From how early on did you get them? What did they feel like? How did they compare with real contractions? How long did they last, their intensity, etc? Did they cause you problems and, if so, did you find a way of alleviating them? What would be your advice to a first time mum trying to work out the difference between BH and the real thing?

Your thoughts, as ever, will be much appreciated.

Agree with MrsSprat - a nice lie down
If you're out and about and this isn't possible sit down / stand still and take deep breaths.

can I just add that when mine were so strong at 33 weeks with DC2 and even the hospital weren't sure whether they were developing into early labour or not (they were very painful and off the chart on the CTG machine), they told me that dehydration can make them worse and to make sure I was drinking at least 3litres a day.

Never had them with DC1

DC3 I've been getting them regularly since about 27 weeks, now 31 and they are just a tightening; not sore but they cause bub to bounce on my bladder or cervix which can be a bit uncomfortable.
