Did MNHQ make a decision about being able to add to an OP? I think we need it..

i don't always explain myself properly in an OP and find myself repeating throughout the thread "blah blah I didn't mean that, I meant..."

If we could ADD to an OP

ADDED BY MAMAG AT 2.05

I didn't mean that, I meant

It would save a lot of thread-skimmers my wrath

[puppy dog eyes]

I don't think we shouljd be able ot edit, BTW, just add something.

it wuldnt work becasue the posts of everyone who had already replied to the unedited OP would no longer make sense, iyswim

PortAndLemon · 15/07/2008 17:00

But MamaG isn't suggesting being able to change the OP, just add to it (with timestamp). So all the replies would still make sense.

I feel the need to quote WanderingTrolley's masterly summary of the historic Post Office thread:

By WanderingTrolley on Mon 07-Apr-08 17:27:51
The post office thread.

OP: What to get my dd for her birthday, she is spoiled in a material way.

Lots of posters: What what what this is an outrage! Why would you spoil your child you dreadful failure of a mother.

Leetle fishy voice: What about a toy post office? I had one, oh how I loved my toy post office.

LOP: And now you expect our help! The cheek of it, I?m on the fucking breadline and you?re moaning because you can?t choose between the brand new bike or the extravagant dolls? house, you utter cowbag.

LFV: It had stamps and envelopes and you could send pretend letters, oh it was dainty and wee. You never see them any more, it?s such a shame

LOP: It?s all your own fault, I?m fucking appalled. You only came here to boast about how much money you?ve got and how you spend it all on your little princess well fuck you! We just had to put our shoes on the fire so we can heat up some water to eat for dinner.

LFV: (whimpering) ...i-i-ink pads...and a weeny pillar box....little letters and telegrams...(sob)

OP: Oh bugger I meant she?s not spoiled in a material way.

LOP: I?m not reading another word you whore. Just give her a lump of dirt and tell her be grateful. She?ll be an utter horror when she?s a teenager you mark my words.

Someone new: I?ve only read the OP.....

I think I remember who it was too. Poor woman. I bet she previews everything now.

I would have dearly LOVED to put on the bottom of OP

BY MAMAG 9am

It wasn't a farm trip. I am over it. I accept IABU
