Hi Mumsnet Mods, can you tell me why my posts on the thread about the ‘AIBU to set boundaries with an over familiar neighbour’ have been deleted?

They were helpful posts, do you disagree? Well, I mean obviously you do, buy can you tell me why? Or is this just more……Mumsnet stuff?

We haven’t removed your posts because we disagree with the advice you were giving. Plenty of your comments are still there, including the fairly straightforward point that the OP needs to be more assertive.

The posts we removed were the ones where the focus shifted from the situation to the OP herself, including comments about her qualifications, suggesting the thread sounded like ChatGPT, and then bringing info in from another thread and returning again to the same point about her Masters.

There’s a difference between robust advice and repeatedly picking at the person asking for it. It can be pretty confronting to come here asking for advice and find the discussion turning into a critique of you personally, rather than the problem you’ve actually posted about.

You’re absolutely free to think the OP is handling the neighbour badly, and to say so. We’d just ask you to keep the criticism to what she’s doing rather than who she is.
