Video ads at top of page restart playing again even if closed with the x. Anyone else experiencing this?

Whenever I close a video ad using the x button, closing it as directed by MN, it closes then a few seconds later it restarts playing and I have to close it again (using the x)
So on each thread/page I have to close the video ad twice. This is with all different ads and has been like this for me for several days.
Mobile site, Google pixel phone.
Anyone else experiencing this?
MN any ideas please

Hi @Ksown

Sorry to hear this is happening. Ads refreshing on their own is normal, but one restarting after you've closed it definitely isn't, so we want to get to the bottom of it.

To help us pin it down — when it comes back, is it a different ad or the same one playing again, and roughly how long before it restarts? Is it every thread or just certain pages, and are you logged in or logged out when it happens?

Thanks!

It's actually changed to a different problem now...when the video ads play they are offset off the edge of the screen so you can't access the x button! I'll try to screenshot it

So now it just keeps repeat popping out and playing as you can't actually close it with the x

Hi @Ksown

Thanks for the update, that's really helpful.

I'm now in touch with the ad partner behind these videos to get it sorted. Please bear with us while we work it through, and I'll update you here once we've made progress.

Thanks again for flagging it, and for your patience.

Thank you
