Unable to access Mumsnet on phone but laptop works normally

Bad Request 400. This is the message I keep getting on my phone when I try to access Mumsnet. I can get on via my laptop easily but it isn't always as convenient. A little while ago I kept being asked to disable my Adblocker, I didn't have an Adblocker and could see the adverts but that seems OK now and I think this is probably something different. I don't have a problem accessing anything else on the Internet.

I had to get the app because of this and now random Amazon pop ups keep happening even though I'm not clicking them. so frustrating

Clear all the Mumsnet cookies and it should work again.

Clear all the Mumsnet cookies and it should work again.

How do I do that please?

Same here with same error message.

@CaptainMyCaptain on my android it's the 3 dots in the corner, then settings, privacy and security, delete browsing history, then cookies and find Mumsnet and delete.

Evening @CaptainMyCaptain and others. Sorry this is still an issue. Here's some information from @BeckyAMumsnet from another thread on this topic that might help...

Thanks so much to everyone who’s been testing this and letting us know what you’re seeing - it’s really helpful, and we know how annoying these sorts of stop-start issues are.
For some users, clearing the browser cache has fixed the problem, but we can see that isn’t the case for everyone. One thing that’s helping us narrow this down is that Mumsnet does seem to work properly in an incognito/private browsing window. That’s useful because incognito mode doesn’t use the same stored cache as your normal browser session, which points to this potentially being caused by something locally stored in the browser rather than a wider site issue.
If you’ve already fully cleared your cache and you’re still seeing the problem, we’d really like to dig into it with you directly. If you’d be happy to jump on a quick call/screenshare with the team so we can see exactly what’s happening, please either report this post or email us directly at [email protected].
And if you need instructions for clearing your cache (you can do this just for Mumsnet rather than wiping everything), please take a look here:

Thanks again for bearing with us while we work through it.

Update on recent 404 errors and how to clear your cache | Mumsnet

Hello everyone. We’ve now identified what caused the 404 errors some users were seeing late last week and over the weekend. There was a very brief...

This happened to me about a week ago, and it happened again earlier today (using the website on my phone). On both occasions I managed to resolve it by clearing the cache/cookies etc for the last 7 days.
Both times I'd been using it without an issue and it happened when having gone back into active conversations I clicked on a thread

Bit disappointed to see you've replied to this but not to the other thread where people are saying they've tried all that and it's still not working.

I am one of those. It's clearly an MN issue.

Thanks. I got so far with that then wondered if I was going to delete all my cookies and have to reset all my passwords. I'll have another go later.

Hooray! I'm on. Thank you.

Would using the App prevent this happening?

OP posts:
Seeline · 11/05/2026 09:17

Same here - I've tried clearing cache and cookies. It let me into the site, but as soon as I clicked on a thread I was back to the 400 error. It's been happening since yesterday afternoon. Your advertising income must be taking a big hit - surprised you haven't sorted it sooner.

Why is it ALWAYS Mumsnet with these issues. It never happens on any other sites!!
