Why was the Gaza toddler Sky News thread deleted, and which guidelines?

I was just on a thread about a wounded toddler in Gaza but there was a warning from a poster that it would soon be deleted, then lo and behold it was gone. Can you explain which guidelines were breached, as I'm mystified. It was just posters commenting on a story that's on Sky News and elsewhere.

What do you mean about "that stuff"? Now I'm even more confused. Stuff about Gaza? Any disputed stuff?
Is there an unwritten rule that I don't know about regarding the Israel and Gaza conflict? I post regularly on a political thread, currently on Iran/Israel/US, and it's not been pulled when there are negative comments on Israel (or the US, for that matter).

As pp has suggested, it would be good if @MNHQ explained to the uninitiated why the thread was pulled. So I would know which threads to avoid in future.

Usually after Ive spent about 5 minutes writing a long, detailed reply using research and links and then poof!!

As I said on the other thread before it was deleted, this place is incredibly pro Zionist, and as soon as something is raised about the mistreatment of Palestinians, it will likely be deleted after a healthy dose of overblown outrage from Zionist supporters.

On the contrary, there are many long running threads about Israeli mistreatment of Palestinians.

And a Zionist is someone who believes Jewish people have the right to a nation with self determination in the area of the world we currently know as Israel. Nothing terribly controversial about that is there. Its not an outlying position or the slur you seem to believe it is.

In general, we encourage users to question the accuracy or reliability of sources, but that’s something for discussion on the thread rather than a moderation issue. We don’t remove posts on the basis that the source may be unverified, but we take this on a case-by-case basis.

Personally, I prefer when a poster makes it clear that they have used AI in a comment. More importantly, do you disagree with the AI answer and if so, why?

Unless you meant, not ChatGPT as you prefer another LLM such as Claude, PaLM or Command R, because they bring different and more relevant capabilities to bear on this question?

I strongly disagree with you on the foolishness of using/quoting ChatGPT as I believe that there's a useful place for LLMs in today's world.

I don’t know really. Either way it doesn’t prove the point. ChatGPT is a useful tool but all it does is pull data from various web sources. It’s doesn’t actually know anything.
