Started to happen when you made the colour changes

Between the 2 I might have to go elsewhere for a few more months. The headache I get isn't worth it!

Not freezing for me at the moment.
Last night it was freezing as I scrolled through a thread .
It seemed that when I got to an advert ( not at the side of the thread but mid thread) there would be a screen sized white blank and then the whole thing would freeze.
I couldn't go back or to any other pages and would have to exit the site.

Another glitchy one here….delay when typing posts/replies, very slow to load, pages not loading properly. Headache inducing to use it. Absolutely terrible and really disappointing. Not enjoyable and I’ve hardly used it in the last week or so, despite needing to look at threads for advice. Really disappointing and worse since the changes.

Just froze on me AGAIN.

Chrome on laptop, fairly short thread of 3 pages in AIBU.

It's been a regular occurrence for months now, before the recent colour changes etc, and I'm really fed up with it.

No issues on ANY other site.

I've already deleted the app from my phone because every time I used it my phone overheated and the screen went dark. I thought my phone was dying until I read a thread in here about others having the same issue.

Please sort it out!

I've been having this problem for at least a week as well. It doesn't matter if it's a long thread or just the opening post. Doesn't matter which board. Doesn't matter if it was on a different tab or not. The only thing that is consistent is that it is Mumsnet as it doesn't happen on any other website. Even Boots website is quicker!!

Hi all, we're so sorry that some of you are still experiencing this issue - we can see how frustrating it must be. Has anyone noticed any particular adverts that are cropping up when the page freezes?

It could be any advert for me. I tried a couple of days ago and it was the same with the freezing so I gave up and came back to the app

MN is now practically unusable on my iPhone. I stopped using the App because it was so clunky, but now it’s useless on Chrome as well. I can’t be using different search engines for different sites. The ads freeze everything after about 30 seconds. Hopeless. Am having to find other entertainment now.

@JoMumsnet it could be any ad. As irritating as the constantly moving ones are (especially the little video pop up thingy that appears randomly in the bottom left of my screen) I actually manage to ignore them a lot of the time and so the ad content doesn't register with me.

Same issues here although doesn’t seem related to adverts. iPad safari latest version. Desk top. I select a thread & blank white page. Sometimes it will spring into life after 30 seconds or so. I’m trying the app but I hate the app. The site is becoming unusable again

Still an issue on my. Android phone.
Seems to be worse in the evening.

I've come to Site Stuff to check if it was just me, but clearly not. Several threads, blank white pages, page freezing, won't refresh, have to come out altogether. Chrome on Android phone.

I can help. It happens ALL.THE.TIME. as usual, it's on the iPad where the problems are. As always. No change there.

Still, i only find myself back on here out loud habit and it sends be away again.

Also, my phone is running really hot and the battery haemorrhages power at a rate of knots since we’ve had those video ads at the top of the screen. I’m afraid to say this means I have used MN A LOT less because I can’t afford to let my battery drain so fast. I don’t even use it for 30 minutes a day now when a few weeks ago it was at least 2+ hours a day.

I've come on here to see if it was just me. Chrome, on laptop, get "page unresponsive" pop up. Yesterday, any and all threads.

It's just occurred to me that MN isn't rushing to solve this issue because they know it's the adverts and they want us ti subscribe to the "no adverts" option .

I think I have to agree and why all these ridiculous responses from them to screen record when they could see exactly what’s happening on their own mobiles/devices.

That bloody advert at the top of the screen that as a matter of course now needs constant closing… the site reminds me of the early 2000s, clunky and unusable.

Mine is on an iPad. I can usually read about 4 maybe 5 posts then it just goes white no text. No posts. No adverts. Nothing. Then I give up. I have no idea how long threads are… I can’t read them.

Same here. Have to use Duck Duck Go to use MN now.

Are you waiting for more details from posters?
I can't pinpoint which ads proceed the blank white page as it happens so fast.
And I pay no attention to the adverts.
And of course it's anyone's guess ( unless you have more info)., whether it is the adds causing the problem.

Mine is on my laptop, using Chrome, page unresponsive. It happens on all and any threads I pick from Active, it's been happening for days.

I didn't bother to report it, because I know from experience nothing is ever done about these issues, but I saw the thread so thought I'd add my voice.

It’s simple to download the DuckDuckGo app, and I only need to use it for MN, interestingly.

Just dropping in to report that I'm still getting issues. Any progress being made on fixing it @JoMumsnet and @LilyMumsnet? It's incredibly tiresome.

Exactly what happens for me, last few days it’s been really awful again it’s taken me over five minutes to type this out &as what I type each letter takes an age before it appears it’s incredibly frustrating

Same issues here. Blanket white pages, not refreshing, freezing. I have actually started using DuckDuckGo which is better but still not working normally like other pages
