What’s going on with the number of OPs using Title Case in their thread titles?

There seem to be a lot of these recently, and it’s making me wonder if they’re genuine posters. I don’t believe, these days, that capitalising every letter of your thread title is a normal way to type/post.

Ooh, yes. I've been wondering about this for a while. I thought perhaps it might be common practice on some other platform, spilling over to MN.

It seems somehow tragic, elevating a humble thread title to the grander status of newspaper headline.

I thought about starting a thread about it in Pedant's Corner, but that now seems just to be a place for laughing about typos and regionalisms

My Phone Does It Automatically! (I have to go back and change everything to lowercase - no idea if it’s possible to change it through settings )

Completely missing the point of the thread but there was a trend some years ago where people would Type Every Word With A Capital Letter Just Like This. No idea why as it’s a lot more tiring having to press the uppercase button every word but the thread titles reminded me of this!

I wonder if it’s American posters - when you look at e.g. the New York Times online, all the headlines are capitalising each first letter of each word. Whereas uk papers tend to not do that. So it might be more common to use Title Case in headers in the US?

I’ve done a cursory search online, not pedant worthy, and first page of results all seem to say that it’s more common to use title case in us publications and sentence case in uk ones.

Hi there @BIWI (and others). As far as we know there's nothing nefarious going on here but if you're ever concerned just hit the report button and we'll happily take a look behind the scenes.
