Constant intrusive videos

These are driving me mad. I understand you need to sell advertising space, but on every thread there is a highly intrusive video. Even when I close them down they reappear on the same thread! Surely once a user has closed the ad that should be it?

I’ve literally just downloaded an ad blocker for the very same reason. It’s driving me mad!

I just use the iPhone (Safari) feature to remove unwanted items. Have to do it on every page but it gets round not being able to use ad blockers on this site.

North Face is a prime example of a video that takes over my entire screen. I am on dark mode due to eye condition and light sensitivity and that advert is an absolutely bastard, it's bright white and dayglo yellow. Torture! It just flashed up on my screen without warning so I just shut the whole site down to try and clear it 😱

It's so annoying.

In fact I'm typing this blind as it's covering up with whole screen as I type.

I've got floating video ads over other ads and then a sideswipe floating ad over that.

It's all the SAME AD.

Please stop it. I find it really distracting and can’t cope with it. I understand the need for adverts and can cope with the usual ones but these constant videos are awful.

Same here. The ads are intrusive enough without the fecking videos!

Tap the jigsaw piece, then tap the ad & tap HIDE.

Yes - on the browser address bar to the left there is a rectangle shape with two lines underneath it - click on that and then a few options appear including “hide distracting items”. Select that option and then you can select anything you want to hide/remove. I just leave it on until I move to the next page so I can instantly remove annoying ads.

Yes this immensely annoying and intrusive

What makes it worse is that clicking on the X on the ad makes it go away for around one second and clicking on 'skip ad' for only 2 or 3 seconds so you can't get rid of it

Because there is also an ad at the top of the screen it's like trying to read the page thro' a letter box

Please do something about this

I keep getting small videos in the top right corner. Arggghhhhh.

They are so distracting and annoying. Please @mnhq make it stop!

I'm getting videos that drop down from the top when you start reading a thread. Read the same thread for another minute and the same video drops down again, you have to click it to go away.
It's really really annoying and it's putting me off using the site

Plus ones in the middle of the thread as you scroll down.
MNHQ it is too much clutter and really unpleasant to use the site when it's like this.

Yes constant video popping up at the top of the screen...Butlins I think but I'm deliberately not paying it any attention so its a fail on advertising! Very annoying- please can we stop this Mumsnet, it's not making me want to carry on reading threads.

Ouse my phone and it’s only a small screen so that pop up hides more of the screen. Plus it’s intrusive and distracting.

i have a constant replay of super mario kart keep popping out in the bottom right of my browser window. driving me nuts.

Yes they are driving me mad. Chrome, laptop and they are constantly on the bottom right of the screen. You can X them but another one just pops up.
