I have posted a few times where the text I've written has posted but the message box hasn't cleared. This means I have to delete the post out of the message box if I want to add a new post

Nope.

It's still driving me la la. Both on phone and tablet.

HappilyUrbanTrimmer · 24/07/2025 20:11

It doesn't! It appears to be fixed, for me anyway...

Argh! You had it fixed for me on 24th July but it's broken again today! (At least - it's done it a couple of times on other threads but weirdly this thread is behaving properly)

dementedpixie · 03/08/2025 09:08

Still happening to me 😭

Yup. Still happening to ke too. Annoyingly, not all of the time, but I'd say on 50% of posts.

lcakethereforeIam · 11/08/2025 20:28

Moi aussi!

Boiledbeetle · 21/08/2025 00:04

It's ramped up a notch today.

Just about every post I've made from both my tablet and phone I've had to delete the text sat there from the previous post.

This is still happening for me, but to make it worse if I reload a thread that I've already commented on, it now jumps down to the (pre-populated) text box rather than the bookmarked post. So I then have to scroll back up to find where I'd got to.

lcakethereforeIam · 24/08/2025 11:06

Yes. That's happening to me too. It's the most irritating thing about this glitch.

Viviennemary · 26/08/2025 14:47

This is happening to me today. Not noticed it before.

FuckedOffWithTheLotOfThem · 27/08/2025 20:29

I've just reported my own post to draw this to MNHQ's attention, it's still really annoying me. I've been following the threads about the new flashy adverts and it's doubly-irritating that on threads about poor user experience there's this glitch that's making it even worse! I can live with the text being retained, but the fact that when a thread loads it zooms straight down to the comment box makes it really difficult to pick up where you left off.

Edited to add: Samsung A52, chrome browser.

ClaraMumsnet · 27/08/2025 20:45

We're so sorry that this is still happening. Thanks for the info about devices, @FuckedOffWithTheLotOfThem - is it happening to others not using Samsung devices too? @Viviennemary @Boiledbeetle @IcakethereforeIam can you let us know what devices and browsers you're using please?

lcakethereforeIam · 27/08/2025 21:01

@ClaraMumsnet I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab Lite. Usually Google or Google Chrome.

It seems to happen randomly. Possibly when I first post on a thread, but only sometimes, and/or if I take my own sweet time composing a post or if I firtle off to find a link to include.

I’m on an iPhone and it’s been happening for ages.
At first I kept posting twice thinking it hadn’t posted the first time @ClaraMumsnet

Again...

You've had this information off me over a month ago.

I'm starting to get really annoyed with it now.

HebeMumsnet · 14/07/2025 11:18
Morning, everyone. It looks like at least two of you are on Samsung phones. Could you let us know what browser you are using too, please? Thanks!
And if anyone else is having the same problem, if you could also drop your device and browser info here, that would be a huge help.

Boiledbeetle · 14/07/2025 11:26
My phone is Samsung Galaxy A53 but it's happening on my tablet as well, bog standard Amazon fire one. Fire HD 8 12th generation
Using 'google chrome' on the phone
And according to the internet I'm using 'silk 136' on the Amazon tablet

lcakethereforeIam · 27/08/2025 22:16

What I wrote about new threads or taking too long, forget it. Just happened on a thread I've been all over and with a new pithy comment.

Was using Chrome.

musicalfrog · 28/08/2025 09:18

Gosh this is annoying. The worst thing is if you flip between pages it takes you to the text box at the bottom automatically.

Rage! Lol

Boiledbeetle · 28/08/2025 22:20

I have spent a good part of today deleting crap from the message box.

I could just about cope if it happened every time, but it's the whole will it won't it part that is driving me to swearing at Mumsnet HQ on a regular basis today.

It never used to do this Mumsnet, - make it not do it again.

Enko · 04/09/2025 08:36

Having atopped for a while this is now happening again. I am on a Damding phone

MinnieCauldwell · 04/09/2025 08:49

Me too, Samsung and Firefox browser. Not on app.

Boiledbeetle · 04/09/2025 09:35

Still driving me insane on tablet and phone.

lcakethereforeIam · 04/09/2025 11:14

Me too.

Is there an easy way of deleting the contents of the message box? Other than pressing the backspace button for an age.

Yes!

Turns out we have a delete option.

See the message box...

There's a little dustbin at the right end of the bold underline strikethrough options.

Press that

Boiledbeetle · 04/09/2025 12:02

And I just had to use it!!!!!
