Has the draft saving thingy had a nervous breakdown?

After I've posted the text of my post is remaining in the message box as well.

Even if I've gone to a different thread and come back to the original thread later. (Just checked in a different new tab went to threads I'm on clicked on the relevant thread and 6 minutes later it's still sat there despite closing the thread down. )

It's happened on different threads I'm on all day and it's happening both on my phone and tablet.

I'm on the website not the app

Latest thread is happened on us this one 👇

Yes I've been wondering about this as well.
The first time I noticed it i thought I must have written the message but forgotten to press the Post button.

I'm glad it's not just me.

I honestly thought I was losing my marbles yesterday. I forget to press post some times anyway so to begin with I just thought I was having a very fuzzy brain day.

And it's doing it again. Right now. Right here!

Yes @Boiledbeetle I've just had to delete the message I posted earlier from the message box in order to write this reply!

Obviously all part of an MN plot to make us think we are incompetent as posters!

Boiledbeetle · 11/07/2025 08:12

I suppose it's better than the old days when the page would refresh as you were typing and suddenly you'd lose 5 paragraphs of a post you were writing, but this new let's keep the text so you can repeat yourself version will get old real quick!

Nope! They never got back to me.

It's still happening to me.

It's infuriating.

If it was all the time fair enough, but it's rather hit and miss!

I've ended up reporting your post to say im having the same issue. Maybe that'll prompt a response @Boiledbeetle

HebeMumsnet · 13/07/2025 21:30

Evening @Boiledbeetleand others. Thanks for letting us know about this. We'll take a look and see if we can replicate the issue.

Whatever you've done it's fixed my problem with draft posts too.

It used to be that if I had written a post and then decided not to post it, if I then went back onto that thread I would be automatically navigated down to the comment box every time I clicked to a new page of comments. It was especially irritating if I'd navigated there via notifications and wanted to see new posts on the thread.

dementedpixie · 14/07/2025 20:56

It's happened again but part of the draft it saved contained an @ and it won't let me delete it to write a new post
