Just to be clear, I am not asking mumsnet to change their policies. I understand why they delete troll posts and previously banned posters. This post today is really just posted in fun.

I’m curious if other posters sometimes which mumsnet could leave up some of the more benign illegitimate posts? Am I the only person who finds it entertaining to watch the original poster tie themselves in knots trying to keep things up? Is anyone else a tiny bit disappointed that the moderation team does a good job and acts so swiftly in these cases?

Hi there @Ponderingwindow ,

Thanks for the feedback. We do actually quite regularly leave 'troll threads' up if they aren't doing any harm (eg taking people in and making them feel they've been 'had') or where everyone is aware the troll has gone but are enjoying the thread anyway or, if despite the OP turning out to be not genuine, the thread has taken on a life of its own and contains lots of useful advice and info. Those are just a few examples, but we do try to preserve helpful threads when we can.

Often troll threads are just a bit pointless and annoying for users so we try to clear those out of the way, but we do always give it plenty of thought. We appreciate your feedback though.
