what I would be interested in knowing (!) is which weather forecast people find most reliable. I check bbc (FREQUENTLY wrong) and weather bugs.

None of them! Where I live (up a hill in central Scotland) we get our own weather. I haven't found anything better than looking out of the window yet

I like netweather. It's very specific - unlike eg the BBC who just give the "predominant" weather - and usually quite accurate for 24-48 hours ahead (ignore the 8-16 day nonsense, it generally says rain just to be on the safe side )
