Can we disable quoting the opening post?

I find it so annoying when posters quote the op. Surely anyone replying to a thread, it is self explanatory that they are replying to the opening post, without needing to quote it?

it means having to scroll through multiple, often long, quotes of opening posts completely needlessly.

Another vote for disabling the OP post. It’s really annoying.

Can we disable posts uploading when they are questioning people quoting an OP? It’s been done to death already, we know it’s annoying, some people don’t get it and keep doing it but it’s equally annoying everyone asking the same thing.

What a strange response. You know you don’t need to reply to every thread on the site? The title was self explanatory, so if you find it so annoying you can just scroll past.

I haven’t seen any previous threads on this, hence posting. Seems plenty of people are in agreement.

Seems to be a problem with Apple. It's still fine on Android devices.

You can’t cut and paste on iPhone, you have to quote the whole post which won’t help with reposting the OP. I also hate not being able to switch from Active to Topics etc without closing where you are on another section. Sorry, not described very well!

The amount of posters who clearly haven;t read the OP properly is staggering and once it gets to 2 or more pages, people don;t look back at the OP so it's good to remind posters what the OP actually said.

Thanks for your feedback on this. We do hear that a lot of people are frustrated about this and we can understand why. We are working on a solution for the situation at the moment, but it's proving to be a bit more complex than we had hoped. So while we don't have a timeframe at the moment, please be assured that it has happening and we are still working on it. We will update whenever there is any news.
