N/c

I recently requested a post I started bendeleted because I felt I'd said something that was identifiable should anyone who knew me read the post.

I contacted mn and my request was denied, I was told:
"We don't usually delete threads unless they break our Talk guidelines, or pose a serious privacy concern. As Mumsnetters have spent time posting on the thread and sharing their views, they don't take kindly to seeing threads deleted, so we really only try to delete threads in exceptional circumstances."

However I've just been reading a thread that was getting a lot of support and then suddenly it was deleted, with the message:

This thread has been deleted The OP is feeling a bit anxious about having posted and possible being spotted so we've agreed to take this down for her. Thank you to everyone who contributed; we know it was appreciated.

To be clear, I support the deletion of that thread, but don't understand why mine wasn't when I had practically the same anxiety about it.

Is there any guidance anywhere as to the best way to request a thread removal?

Hi OP, we don’t delete threads as a rule, so we usually look for ways to keep them up unless they break Talk Guidelines or are identifying.

If you’re still concerned and none of our suggested solutions work for you, we’re always happy to take another look. Just get back to us via email. We're not in the business of making anyone's life harder than it needs to be, and will always do our best to help.
