Page suddenly going blank, like it's 'refreshing,' when I haven't touched any keys on my keyboard.

I am just sitting here reading a thread, and whoosh, the page goes blank/white. Nothing there (As I say, it's like 'refresh' has been clicked.) It stays blank until I actually do click 'refresh!'

The first couple of times I thought it was because I had accidently pressed one of the keys on the laptop keyboard, but then it kept happening.(Without me even touching a single key on the keyboard.) Been happening for 2 or 3 days now. I'm hoping it won't start happening when I'm composing a post (and I end up losing everything I have already typed!)

Anyone else getting this?

There's already a thread - this has been happening in varying degrees to people for ages now and doesn't seem any closer to being fixed. Some of us can't get anything - it doesn't refresh either, just freezes dead.

It’s really bloody annoying, and that’s why I’ve stopped reading so often. The sticking is worse than the refreshing.

I've got a completely blank page today on my laptop when I go to Mumsnet but mobile is fine. Really frustrating.

Oh I haven't seen a thread. I will go look in a minute. Glad it's not just me!

They know about it and have done for ages but don't seem to be doing much.

I get it on my phone all the time (mobile version not app) but not on my laptop. Really annoying. Seems to happen as you scroll past an advert in a thread.

Yes, I've had this since the ads were brought in, using the mobile site rather than the app. It sometimes puts me back at the top of the page, and sometimes gives a blank white nothingness.

Thanks for contacting us. Yes, as previous posters have said, this is an issue we are aware of and are investigating currently. As soon as there's any news we will update on the main thread someone has linked to.

If you are able to jump on a call with MattTech, do drop him a line on this thread in response to his post here. We think the problem is caused by a rogue ad and any help we can get in locating it would be really welcome.

If it is a rogue ad, it’s been around as long as you’ve had ads, @KellyMumsnet . I’ve definitely had the ‘dumping me out and retuning to the top of the page’ situation for ages. The white section of doom has only been in the last week or so I think.

They don’t seem to know what’s causing it so I suspect are just hoping we’ll give up moaning. On my iPad I’ve been totally unable to use safari for about a week, just get the white screen with maybe the first couple of messages showing, can’t scroll, can’t click on anything, can’t go back. Chrome is better.

Nope, not fixed. Mine froze just a minute ago and is often refreshing and jumping

Sadly my fix only lasted a few hours and haven't had it back since.

This has just started happening to me.

In the middle of reading something & screen just goes white!

Comes back to the top of the page that I was reading when I refresh.
