Thread no longer accepting replies

A thread I was following now has a comment up at the end saying it is not longer accepting replies, but it is only on page 12. I've not seen this before- can I ask why?

Hi there @IButtleSir. It's probably that we have closed the thread to new posts for some reason. That might be because the thread was going off the rails or it could be something else. If you want to tell us which thread it was we might be able to tell you a bit more but it's probably nothing to worry about.
