I really don’t want to click on them. What are these? How soon will they be removed? They are really upsetting.

OP posts:
Pat888 · 15/10/2024 09:27

OMG horrible but also look fake

Hobnobswantshernameback · 15/10/2024 09:33

I'm going to stop using the site until these are removed as they are horrible and unecessary

historyrepeatz · 15/10/2024 09:48

A really bad fake. I guess is a blessing that it's so obviously fake.

NikKai · 15/10/2024 09:55

Was just going to start a thread about these. I'm far from a delicate flower, and have a strong stomach, but these make me feel sick. They're obviously fake, but that's what made me feel sick I think- knowing that someone is purposely making fake images of women only, covered in cuts and bruises. It's vile. Please get rid of this, it's intimidating on a site for mums

Sober23 · 15/10/2024 10:01

They're adverts for something?! I just saw one of Rachel Reeves looking like her face had been smashed in. WTF mumsnet admin???

JustAnotherPoster00 · 15/10/2024 10:03

I couldn't figure out how to report the ads so well done OP for starting this thread, will watch for MNHQs probably inadequate response

ticktock19 · 15/10/2024 10:03

Come to report the same, the dreadful Rachel Reeves picture 'advert' is all over the thread I'm reading

meringue33 · 15/10/2024 10:04

Yes these are awful and so triggering. Please MN get rid ASAP.

Thornrose · 15/10/2024 10:04

They're such bizarre images and quite disturbing!

DoreenonTill8 · 15/10/2024 10:05

And Sara Cox- tried to report to Google and it opened the ad... looks like a fake bbc page!

Chewbecca · 15/10/2024 10:05

Yes, why on earth? I wouldn't dream of clicking to find out.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 15/10/2024 10:06

@MNHQ what's happening

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 15/10/2024 10:07

I was just going to ask this!

healthybychristmas · 15/10/2024 10:09

Me too. Really awful.

WillimNot · 15/10/2024 10:23

They're on every thread, a variety of them, im not clicking on them because I imagine it's a scam.of some sort but it's horrific to see them repeatedly

fastforwardplay · 15/10/2024 10:28
Angry
TheFlis · 15/10/2024 10:28

MNHQ have replied on another thread saying they are on the case

MNHQ have replied on another thread saying they are on the case

They said that in September but they're still appearing.

Danikm151 · 15/10/2024 10:33

Evidently adverts aren’t vetted. Normally it’s based on people’s viewing habits but this advert seems targeted at mumsnet

IsItTimeToRetireYet · 15/10/2024 10:37

I have 3 ads with faked photos of Alex Jones on the first page of this thread alone. It’s disturbing and unsettling that someone is targeting these at women

BeckyAMumsnet · 16/10/2024 14:28

Hi everyone - this ad should be blocked now but do let us know if you see it or anything similar again.

Thanks, all.

MounjaroUser · 16/10/2024 14:29

But @BeckyAMumsnet why was it allowed on here anyway? Those pictures were really horrible and if I were one of the people I'd find them actually threatening.

BeckyAMumsnet · 16/10/2024 14:41

Hi @MounjaroUser Thanks for your question. To clarify, some of the ads displayed on Mumsnet are automatically served by Google’s ad network, which selects ads based on various factors. We don’t manually choose or approve each ad, but we do set filters to block inappropriate content. Unfortunately, in this instance, an unsuitable ad bypassed those filters. We apologise for the upset caused.

DeanElderberry · 16/10/2024 18:25

I don't see ads. Not sure whether that's because of something I clicked on my mumsnet profile or because I use duckduckgo as my browser. Seems I've been lucky.
