The "old" way of putting in links - double square bracket, link, space, desired text, close double squared bracket - is no longer working for me on Firefox or on Safari.
On Safari, if I put the double square bracket in first, when I add the link it throws up a smiley menu obscuring the link that I can't remove which stops me completing the operation, if I insert the first square brackets after I've pasted the link, on posting it converts them to close square brackets, puts them at the end, and repeats the link for good measure.
On firefox it works with a short link - I still get the smiley menu come up, but I can add stuff at the end of the link. With a long link, the smiley menu obscures the end of the link - but I've just discovered I can close the smiley menu by clicking somewhere further up the post. So that's an irritation not a major problem.
On trying to edit, I got a pop-up box asking me to put link and text, but when I did this, it posted the text in blue as a link followed by the link.
I really like being able to condense a long link into a succinct bit of text, but at the moment I can't do it on my iPad (Safari) and it's fiddly on my desktop (Firefox).
