How about automatically closing threads that have been unanswered for months?

There have been a lot of zombie threads lately - one was ten years old! Since it seems way too hard for some posters to look at the dates, would it be possible to automatically close them to new replies after a set period?

I think MN is a bloody useful site, and well run. With so many members it's impossible to keep everybody happy all of the time!

Does this really matter? At worst it's a minor irritation and at best it brings back interesting discussions.
