What is the point of having a special forum for 2024 GE talk ?

If we report them, will you move them?

It might be impossible to keep them all corralled if the final days of campaigning, or if something truly cataclysmic happens, but if you move them, then the topic will become the go-to place

If you see any threads started after the GE board was made, please report them to us and we'll review them. We may not move a thread if it fits into the topic it has been posted in... but we've just moved a few over to the new board now!

Just wanted to say a big thanks to MN for creating this new topic for the election.

I've reported one already this evening, which has been left to stand - I presume because it's in AIBU. Which is always the 'get out of jail free' card, isn't it, @LilyMumsnet?

Yeah the "oh but they've set up a poll" is the bollocks excuse for keeping them in AIBU

Maybe the solution is to add poll options to other boards.

Because some of us come on here to relax and don't actually want to read the goady bollocks that purports as information on here.

Less happy to see an entire row of threads in a lighthearted chat forum spouting utter bollocks on both/all sides

To be clear, I have no issue about the threads themselves. As you quite rightly say, it's about the most important thing going on in the UK right now. What I do object to, though, is people posting all over the place about the GE - it's like spamming the boards! Just as people get irritated with Active Convos being taken over by posts about Christmas, we can be irritated here too. Doesn't mean I won't/don't want to read them - just that there's one place to go and view all of those threads.
