Loads of emails notifying me of things

Hello,

All of a sudden today I've started receiving emails about every little thing that happens on Mumsnet. Someone posted on a thread I've watched - I get an email, someone thanks me, I get an email, someone posts on my thread, I get an email.

I've gone and changed the settings now, but I never agreed to receive these in the first place and in years of MN I have never received them before.

Hi OP

Thanks for letting us know and we're really sorry for any inconvenience caused here - we're looking into it now. In the meantime, please could you let us know if you have any further issues?

aerkfjherf · 07/05/2024 20:13

It happened to me too

saveusername111 · 07/05/2024 20:21

Me too! So many emails from Mumsnet today, pretty sure I've unsubscribed from updates too Confused

Hi OP

Can you let us know what kind - 'you've been thanked' 'tagged' 'new update' and so on. Any newsletters or just notifications at the moment? And can you go and check how your settings read currently?

GoogleWhacking · 07/05/2024 20:37

The last two are "new message on xxx thread" which I am 100% not subscribed to receive

I've made a rule in my inbox for anything coming from Mumsnet to go straight into the junk folder. They are still coming in numbers, but now straight into Junk.

@GoogleWhacking you could make the same rule?

GoogleWhacking · 07/05/2024 22:15

Oh the irony!! 🤣

Thanks. I could I suppose but I think I'd rather @MNHQ sorted their shit out!!

It's inappropriate use of my data in breach of GDPR.

Hi @GoogleWhacking and everyone else. We've had a look at this this morning.

You were always opted in to receive these emails but we've recently made a change that means the emails will no longer be filtered in to spam as they must have been until now.

If you want to opt out, though, it's really quick to do - you can adjust your settings here - https://www.mumsnet.com/settings/notifications?view=email.

Hope that helps.

GoogleWhacking · 08/05/2024 15:38

Hebe, I'm not sure that helps as I'm still receiving them and changed my settings last night.

I have changed my settings and unsubscribed to emails in the gmail app and I am still getting them?

Can you also unsubscribe from your Mumsnet account and let us know what happens after that?

EggcornAcorn · 08/05/2024 20:55

On Hebe's link https://www.mumsnet.com/settings/notifications?view=email you have to scroll right to the bottom and toggle each switch to no ta.
