Why cant i edit my post?

Wrote a post on someone's thread. A couple of people objected to a certain word, so I went back to change it. But there's no edit option. I've edited posts before so I don't know what I'm doing wrong

Hi @EmmaGrundyForPM . That's correct. It's just a short window during which you can edit, but you can always hit report on your post and drop us a line if you're too late. If it's not going to make the thread impossible to follow, we can often do a quick edit for you.
