Arf! the curse of Charmkin.

I've checked my spam, my bin and the dusty bit behind the monitor and I still have NO roundup or newsletter.

Hotmail can be a total pita too, tbh. Anyhow, there wasn't a newsletter this week - but there was talk round up. Will ask tech to have a look here.

WanderingTrolley · 16/03/2008 10:17

Ta for link, that's how I found out I had been excluded from the roundup quiche. Is there one for the newsletter?

Bree, is your rl name Ethel Snortblast?

Fantastic.

WanderingTrolley · 16/03/2008 10:18

Thank you Abby

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 16/03/2008 10:25

I am now the proud owner of two GMail accounts.

One of them is [email protected]

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 16/03/2008 10:26

WT

I could tell you, but then I would have to shoot you.

RustyBear · 16/03/2008 10:39

I do have a googlemail address, but can MNHQ just use that for round ups & CAT etc, or would I have to re-register with that address? And if I did, presumably I'd lose not only my current name but all the ones I've ever used with this registration?

OK - I will then actually have to remember to check my googlemail....

But does Hotmail actually completely block stuff without telling you - because there's definitely been nothing in my junk, I've been checking it.

BoysAreLikeBunnies · 16/03/2008 10:58

Nothing for me either boo hoo

Am on hotmail, nothing in my junk, and I signed up for the round up in the last month.

[feels out of the loop]

RustyBear · 16/03/2008 11:02

OK, have changed my registered email to googlemail, exported my contacts, set up shortcuts - I await next week's offerings from MN with interest....

AbbyMumsnet · 16/03/2008 11:23

I think - although JJ might put me right on this - that we sometimes have an issue with servers actually rejecting emails full stop, so wouldn't end up in your Junk folder as wouldn't even get that far. Talk round up definitely went out last week though - so something is up. Have flagged but not sure what more we can do on this.

BoysAreLikeBunnies · 16/03/2008 11:24

Ta Abby

SheikYerbouti · 16/03/2008 11:38

I didnt get it either - It should have come to my work e-mail

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 16/03/2008 11:59

[email protected]

Even.

Tech · 16/03/2008 16:51

The business of the tkr_nnnnn is deliberate. It's so that if we get a "user no longer exists" or other bounce message we definitely know who to sign off. If we don't do that we can't reliably identify who were were sending to (because people alias their addresses, auto-forward etc.) It's called using a "variable envelope return path". There's a wikipedia article on it here if you are interested. if we don't identify bounces in a timely manner, then we start getting blocked by the like of aol, yahoo, hotmail and so on.

Wanderingtrolley, I just checked your talk roundup. We handed mail over to hotmail's servers at 12:37:19 on Friday for you. We can't trace it any further than that.

Thank you Tech - but alas, it did not arrive.

The last roundup (29/2/08) and the last newsletter (06/03/08) I had were from mumsnet tkr [email protected], if that's any use. I haven't changed my email address or ISP, but my computer does hate me, maybe its to blame...

I will find out who's responsible at hotmail and sit them on the naughty step until they hand over my roundup. If anyone knows how I can manage that, let me know.

[cast out]

Oh, is there a link to the newsletter, like the one to the roundup?
