Hamas is ISIS “advert”

Is there supposed to be a flashing (almost too quickly to read) “advertisement” telling us that Hamas is ISIS and we should “stand with Israel”?

Usually the adverts I see on Mumsnet can be closed by clicking an “X” at top right, but this one has no such option. It’s a bit disturbing.

Am I right in presuming if this pro Israel advert shows on the Mumsnet page then Mumsnet have been paid by the Israeli advertisers to show this advert?

I usually ignore adverts that are either of no interest or are for something I don’t agree with. Don’t think I’ve ever reported an advert.

Well Hamas isn’t ISIS and I won’t stand with Israel whist they continue to commit war crimes. Pretty simple really. I’m not offended by it though.

We've had a look and this one is blocked - can we ask you to please clear your Mumsnet cache?

The advert is still appearing - doesn’t seem to have been blocked yet

But it doesn’t mention the thousands of children that have recently been killed by the creators of the advert so it is misleading. It’s inciting anger and hatred and has no place on mumsnet.

They're not literally isis but they are just as bad. I don't see why that part is offensive.

It’s not offensive but it is incorrect. It is the Israeli propaganda machine at work and the two groups are ideologically different if not equally abhorrent. Facts are important.

I don't think the ad is claiming that they are actually the same group, just that they're equivalent.

@TheresaCrowd no need to be so aggro. I was asking a question that I didn't know the answer to. I thought advertiser's paid Mumsnet to advertise on their site and because this one is offensive they had it reported and we're trying to remove it x
