Like this...

Never seen these before but this evening they're popping up on lots of threads?

I'm getting the Christmas sex toy one too, can you please remove them.

I agree, there's not much point paying for premium. An ad blocker could do it for free, but I have chosen to pay for premium because I value mumsnet.
If ads are going to pop up more and more, I will have to reconsider.

Agree with every word of this.
This new feature is definitely advertising and is highly irritating.

It too impressed with the massive sex toy advert appearing in the middle of my screen.

EstEstEst · 19/11/2023 09:17

I’m a premium member too. I paid for premium to stop seeing adverts, I don’t find them useful I find them annoying.

AuntieStella · 19/11/2023 09:20

They can be deeply inappropriate

  • thread about ideas for teenage boys - oh look, sex toys crops up
  • even worse thread about what to buy as a hospital present for someone with incurable, aggressive brain cancer who might not make it until Christmas - jolly Christmas themed children's toys ads

Morning, everyone. Thanks for highlighting some of these promoted pages that are appearing in inappropriate pages. We've resolved the sex toys one now, but if you see any others you think we need to take a look at, please do hit the report button on the thread and let us know.

McLarenette · 20/11/2023 10:51

I think all of them are inappropriate because I paid for premium to avoid them. As it seems like they are staying, I guess I’ll stop paying for premium.

Chattybot · 20/11/2023 11:18

"Promoted pages" = adverts

"Suggested content" = adverts

"Related MN content" = adverts

"Sponsored content" = adverts

I think the pointless euphemisms are a bit insulting to our intelligence.

I'm reading the Gardening board & it seems every third post is a Mumsnet sponsored ad post. I pay for premium & I'm finding it really annoying also Amazon ads popping up on other boards. I thought Premium would prevent all ads seems it doesn't apply on some boards especially.
