Would you like to be in a documentary about community websites and say nice things about Mumsnet (pretty please)?

Hello Mumsnetters!

Here at Banyak film we're producing a documentary on how the Internet has created some remarkable communities where people freely share knowledge and resources. We think Mumsnet is a prime example of "people providing for each other" and would like to learn more.

We're looking for parents who can speak enthusiastically about Mumsnet. How has it helped you with parenthood? How does it compare with the parental advice you can get through government channels? Have you ever used the community as a platform for campaigns on childcare or parenting issues?

Our documentary will be broadcast by a national TV channel later this year.

If you'd like to talk more about what's involved please mail Matan - [email protected]

Thanks!

I would love to but I am MILES and MILES away from London and it is probably where you need to be

LynetteScavo · 10/03/2008 23:31

Oh, madamez I think you should do it. I want to see what you're like in RL!

KatyMac · 10/03/2008 23:32

I would to - I have found MN to be of great support over the years and would love to talk about it

I think the childminders club is an aspect of the pooled information that they are referring to

arfishy · 11/03/2008 05:49

I'd do a 'live via satellite' and wax lyrical about how mumsnet helped me when I was all on my own with DD in a lots of strange countries and no real life support.

Or alternatively Banyak could pay for my return first class flights back to blighty and I'd do the whole i/v for free. Cheap at half the price.

Don't forget to mention that parenting forums help much more than with parenting advice! Our lives don't begin and end as parents even if that is a huge part of it

largeginandtonic · 11/03/2008 15:29

Good lord a camera on me, erm no dont think so. Do you know how many pounds a camera adds?

VinegarTits · 11/03/2008 15:50

I'll do anything for fame. I strip for a packet of jelly babies if they want me too

fryalot · 11/03/2008 15:53

off you go then

Aitch · 11/03/2008 15:57

oh jeeeeesus, can you imagine the thread when the show is on? i don't think much of her sofa/hair/face... oh no. remember the secret lives of parents... that pink banister!

artichokes · 11/03/2008 16:05

I don't mind doing it. I am London based and love MN. But do they want an old timer?

fryalot · 11/03/2008 16:09

aitch - surely you're mistaken.

Everyone on this site is just so nice.

Twould be more like: "ooh, I must get my hair done like that" and "that outfit is so flattering to the larger lady"

or maybe not

Aitch · 11/03/2008 16:21

yes, you're right of course. the other stuff will be happening on MSN.

Ledodgy · 11/03/2008 16:29

I don't know if they do only want London people I just assumed that they might don't take that as read. They haven't bothered emailing me back anyway.

electra · 11/03/2008 17:27

I would do it - I have a lot I could say.

Mamazon · 11/03/2008 20:13

Oh god! they don't want to film it at my hosue do they?
