It was clearly a troll on the wind up from the original post and contents. Why was it allowed to rumble on for 2 days and then be deleted?

Morning @reducemug. We've had a look back at this thread.
Without giving too much away in case there are trolls lurking here, too, it's not always immediately obvious that someone is spinning a yarn. We like to have satisified ourselves with a bit of evidence if we can, which sometimes takes a little while to become obvious and that was the case here.
We do see that it's irritating when something just sounds incredibly unlikely and then it takes a couple of days for the truth to out but we are regularly surprised by the truth being stranger than fiction in this job so if possible we like to wait until we have something a little more concrete to go on before we chase someone off the site.
Obviously if it's a thread that's extremely upsetting for others reading, we tend to err on the side of caution and zap first and ask questions later. Hope that explains our thinking a bit more.
