Can you tell me why posts are deleted? Surely there is a policy on when to delete?
I told a poster to bog off - just that - and it was deleted because it didn't follow site guidelines apparently.
Another told her to fuck off (I see your policy is not to delete swearing per se) and that was also deleted. I made a jike to the sweaty poster about watching out as my post had gone, she responded - all deleted.
Surely if someone comes, along and writes a judgy post, there is a right to reply? The thread now looks as if the other poster and me have said something bad enough to be deleted when this was not the case?
Surely you don't delete on a poster's whim - there has got to be some substance behind the complaint?

Morning @Katypp . Here's a link to our Talk Guidelines, which explains all the reasons why posts might be deleted. Sometimes it's a lot about tone and context. While we agree there's definitely a difference between 'bog off' and 'fuck off', it is more about tone and intent than 'sweariness' if you see what we mean? So we'd think your post would likely have been deleted as a personal attack.

We don't want to get too deep into the specifics here and turn this into a thread about a thread but we hope that explains things a bit. If you'd like us to look at it in more detail though, do feel free to hit the report button on the thread and we can then have a look at the deleted posts and might be able to give you more info on the decisions made if that would help?
