Why can't I see my private messages?

I got an email that I have a message and I clicked on the messages and it's just buffering. Do you have to pay to see messages?

Hello @Awumminnscotland no, you don't have to pay to see PMs. It may just be a slow connection. Is the rest of the site loading normally and what happens when you click on the account icon? (have added a pic.)
