Absolutely bloody insensitive. Why the fuck is this showing on a thread for someone who is having to go through a MTOP for a fetus with Down Syndrome.

Temporaryname158 · 13/02/2023 22:24

Agreed! Totally inappropriate mumsnet!

LilyMumsnet · 13/02/2023 22:25

Hi OP

We're so sorry about this - we're looking into this right away. If you see the advert again, please could you get the URL and let us know what topic you see it in?

Iusedtobedontcall · 13/02/2023 22:25

I’m going through the same thing and have just seen the ad - horrendous.

Iusedtobedontcall · 13/02/2023 22:30

@LilyMumsnet this is my thread and I’ve just seen the ad and find it v distressing given what I’m going through.

watcherintherye · 13/02/2023 22:32

It’s now showing on this thread for me, anyway.

Iusedtobedontcall · 13/02/2023 22:33

Yep me too.

Hiyawotcha · 13/02/2023 22:35

It’s showing on this thread now too.

Mintsgreen · 13/02/2023 22:37

God it’s on this thread too

TeamadIshbel · 13/02/2023 22:38

Every thread I'm on I see this, it's been there for a few days.

Stopsnowing · 13/02/2023 22:38

I see it on both threads. Terrible.

Grimchmas · 13/02/2023 22:39

It will be computer algorithms rather than somebody deciding that that ad belongs there. It's more than reasonable to request it is removed though.

Sorry to hear that it's been causing distress 😔

Namechangingagain111 · 13/02/2023 23:01

I've just come on here to report the same thing
Surely your site has some sort of filtering to prevent potentially triggering ads from displaying on threads ?!
Poor woman x

Iusedtobedontcall · 14/02/2023 05:14

I know it’s not personal but I’ve not slept, come on the thread again for supposed there it is.

Iusedtobedontcall · 14/02/2023 05:15

That should say support.

Iusedtobedontcall · 14/02/2023 07:34

It’s still there showing up on the thread.

JoMumsnet · 14/02/2023 09:19

Hi @ThisMustBeMyDream - thanks again for alerting us to this.

And @Iusedtobedontcall we're so sorry for any distress this has caused. We've now removed this advert - it may take a short while for the site to refresh.

Would you mind if we moved your original thread to our Pregnancy Choices topic? As it's a sensitive topic we automatically exclude certain ads from appearing there, whereas AIBU doesn't have such filters.

MeganTheeScallion · 14/02/2023 09:23

@JoMumsnet that's interesting: MN does have some control over what ads they allow on the site, then? I'll stick with my ad blocker.

Flowers to all those impacted by insensitive advertising, it's horrible to ambushed like that.
