Posters shouting at OPs for putting their thread in the wrong topic. It’s crazy. How should the OP know that there is a specific topic, when they think their issue belongs in ‘Chat’?

It’s so rude. Just report or send the OP a pm. Don’t fill up the first 20 posts shouting at her.

Afternoon, everyone. Yes, we hear you. While we know not everyone wants to read, for example, threads about Prince Harry endlessly, it does derail threads when people post heavily on them saying they're in the wrong place, so we'd always prefer people to send us a report if they have concerns rather than do so on the thread.

For what it's worth, at times like this, when a subject is front page news, we don't feel we can insist people post in the dedicated topic to discuss the issue. We had a similar policy with Brexit threads and also Covid. Largely, we try to keep them in their relevant sections but we do recognise that there will be times when a story puts those topics on the front page of all the papers, and a topic then becomes more 'general interest'.

If you see spamming of 'Oy! Move your thread over!' do just hit the report button and we can deal with it. And similarly, we're always happy to have a look if you think a thread is in the wrong section.
