I'm posting here because I'm actually genuinely upset.

I've had a post deleted. The deletion says I have broken site rules. Moderator confirms "Your post was removed because we didn't feel that it was in the spirit of the site"

Fine, I can appreciate that, it would be nice if the deletion message reflected the truth of the matter, i have not broken any mumsnet rules but fair dues it's a judgement call.

However a few posts later I am called a "treat" with "no compassion". This has been allowed to stand despite being a very obvious personal attack.

I have no idea how this fits with the moderators statement "We know it can be easy to forget that there are humans, however fallible or flawed, on the receiving end of your posts - we find a good guide is to imagine whether your comment would cause a sharp intake of breath if you said it out loud in public. If it does, then it's best to rephrase."

I would never ever call someone
a treat or lacking in compassion in person. Ever.

If you can delete something for not being in the spirit of the site I don't get why a personal attack which actually breaks the rules is allowed to stand.

I don't know if I wasnt half so upset by the insult until I knew mumsnet thought it was clearly OK. I have never known Mumsnet to let a personal attack stand.
