Aaaargh it's back - the data consent request at every click. I've tried disabling it in settings but it's not working. Is anyone else have this problem again and how can I get rid of it. I've got a Chromebook?
YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 08/10/2022 17:35
Hey @Frenchlady14 have you tried clearing your cookies? That seems to work in most cases.
Here are the instructions for Chrome:
Computer - Delete specific cookies
On your computer, open Chrome At the top right, click More ⋮ > Settings Click Privacy and security Cookies and other site data Click See all site data and permissions At the top right, search for Mumsnet To the right of the site, click Remove To confirm, click Clear.
Let us know if that works, or not. Thank you.
YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 10/10/2022 10:46
Btw @Frenchlady14 I assumed you're using Chrome but if not, please let us know.
HebeMumsnet · 12/10/2022 11:33
Hi @antikkiti. We are sorry this is causing such problems. We are working on a solution as a matter of urgency but at the moment we don't have a date for a fix for it.
We can see that clearing cookies didn't help for you. Have you tried using 'incognito mode'? Obviously not a permanent solution by any means but that also seems to be a useful workaround for lots of users.
YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 15/10/2022 10:15
Hi @Nersa we're sorry to hear this. As @HebeMumsnet said up thread, we're working on sorting this as a priority but for the time being, it might be easier to use private/incognito browsing.

I am getting this all the time on Safari - I have been clicking accept pretty much every time I switch threads now for days (weeks?) - I am soon going to have to give up on the site it is too much hassle. And tonight I am getting the occasional denial of service message.
Hello!
Please follow the instructions below - it should stop this happening but do let us know if not, along with details of your device and browser and a screen grab if possible.
iPhone &iPad - Clear all cookies On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app At the bottom right, tap More ⋮ > Settings Tap Privacy > Clear Browsing Data. Tick Cookies, Site Data. Untick the other items. Tap Clear Browsing Data > Clear Browsing Data. Tap Done.
Here are the instructions for Safari: iPhone & iPad Navigate to your settings Click on ‘Safari’ Scroll to the bottom and choose ‘Advanced’ Click on ‘Website Data’ Type ‘Mumsnet' into the search box Swipe left on ‘Mumsnet’ and choose ‘Delete’

Sachertorterules · 20/10/2022 12:26
That doesn't work in any browser on my Macbook. Nor does going "incognito". Is there anything else your techies can suggest, please?
We'll look into it now but can we just check - have you cleared your Mumsnet cache and cookies? If not, please could you do this now. It usually sorts this out!
LilyMumsnet · 20/10/2022 16:41
Sachertorterules · 20/10/2022 15:33
Yes, I've done that numerous times. Just tried again. Still get the consent pop-up, constantly.
Could you possibly try Mumsnet in a different browser so we can see whether the issue is coming from the device or safari?
LilyMumsnet · 25/10/2022 16:45
Hi @Jaichangecentfoisdenom @Sachertorterules
Please could you check whether your browsers are up to date? Any extra info could help us replicate. Really sorry that this is still an issue for you.
LilyMumsnet · 26/10/2022 18:02
Thanks all, we'll get back to you shortly.
LilyMumsnet · 26/10/2022 18:04
Hi both
Please could you take a screen recording for us so that we see what you are seeing when you navigate the site?
You should be able to screen record by following these instructions:
Open Launchpad Open ‘QuickTime Player’ Select ‘File’ dropdown at the top of the screen Select ‘New Screen Recording’ A small camera will appear where your mouse is. Click the screen you'd like to record Navigate the site and clear your cache When you’d like to stop the recording, select the icon that’s a circle with a small square inside (attached a screenshot of what this should look like) Send the recording to us via email - [email protected]
HebeMumsnet · 02/11/2022 11:24
Hi @Nersa. We're so sorry this is still happening. We're still working on a fix. Most people are able to use the incognito workaround we're finding but if that's not working for you we'd like to be able to work out why in the meantime.
If you have time, and are happy to take a recording of what's happening, using LilyMumsnet's instructions above, and can send that to us, we'd be happy to take a look and that might help us work out what's going on.
Thank you for your continued patience, anyway.
LilyMumsnet · 03/11/2022 09:55
Thanks so much for the screenshot, we will post as soon as we have an update.
DawnMumsnet · 04/11/2022 10:30
Hi @Jaichangecentfoisdenom - thanks very much for uploading those screenshots. We're still looking into this and will be back with an update just as soon as we can. Thanks so much for bearing with us.

Hi The consent pop up is back. I've followed all the instructions for deleting cookies in permissions in Chrome then rebooting and it still happens. Is there another way?
Hi OP
We know you've cleared your cookies but please could you do cache as well? They usually work better when done together. Please keep us updated.
HebeMumsnet · 14/12/2022 11:38
Hi @Frenchlady14 . Try this:
On your computer, open Chrome. At the top right, click More . Click More tools. Clear browsing data. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes. Click Clear data.
LilyMumsnet · 14/12/2022 16:30
Thanks all - we'll post as soon as we have an update.
YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 14/12/2022 17:30
Thanks for the screenshots. 🙏
If anyone else is experiencing this, please let us know your device and browser, and also if possible, share with us a screenshot of your full screen when you get the pop-up. So not just a clipping of the pop-up, but the whole window - basically everything you can see on your screen. If you don't want to do this on the site, please email [email protected] with the subject 'consent pop up'. Thanks, all - we'll try to get this sorted out ASAP.

Just signed in for the first time since last time and dismayed to find the awful pop-up STILL in play here. I thought that maybe that was because I wasn't logged-in. Mislaid my password, which is why I haven't logged in again until now (found p/w earlier) but can nothing be done about this security thing? It is still making th site quite unpleasant. Using Firefox on a Desktop computer. Both computer and FF are fully updated.
Hello
We're so sorry you're still having issues here - please could you let us know how frequently this is happening and whether you can accept/deny and continue with the site, or not?
