Quoting from Court Judgments

MNHQ I had a direct quotation from the Allison Bailey case deleted because it included an offensive word.

It was in this thread
www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4649019-not-to-like-the-globe-theatre-calling-me-a-bitch?page=1

I fully support the view that offensive language should not generally be allowed including the racial slur in question. However, this was a published court judgment, and the use of the specific slur was relevant to the point being made by the judge. In censoring the wording, you are effectively altering the tone and impact of the point the judge was making.

Please consider whether the blanket ban you have for certain words should be applied to quotations from official sources such as court judgments, Hansard etc.

Hi @ChazsBrilliantAttitude

Thanks for flagging this. While we nearly always delete those worlds, we will be discussing the points you have raised in more detail.
